Summary[]

Becky and her friend Violet visit an art gallery, only to find the notorious Butcher auctioning off rare and magnificent works of art, previously thought to have been lost for many years. WordGirl and Captain Huggyface must figure out how the Butcher is pulling off his scheme to auction off forgeries of these famous lost works of magnificent art.

Plot[]

At the Elegant Garfunkel Gallery, Becky, Bob, Violet and a lot of people are gathered there for an art auction. Violet shows Becky a picture of a statue she was wanting to show her in a book, which was what was coming up next. It was a statue of a shape, that's been lost for fifty years, which makes Becky surprised as it suddenly just turned up at their town auction. Violet and everyone else are very lucky to see it in person, but Becky wonders what kind of art collector would want to sell something so magnificent. The auctioneer then introduces the statue to the audience and the certain comes up revealing it. However, as soon as Violet sees the statue, she notices there's something strange about it, and she compares it with the picture of it in the book. A lady then wishes to pay eleven dollars for the statue, but the auctioneer tells her it's two hundred thousand dollars. He then asks the audience does he hear the price, making a lot of people in the audience hold up number signs and he sells it to Edith von Hoosinghaus. When Edith comes up on stage, the auctioneer and the audience to give their thanks to her, and to the artist, which turns out to be the Butcher. When the Butcher shows up on stage, Becky gets shocked to see him and wonders what he's doing at the art auction. The auctioneer then invites the audience to return tomorrow night for the next auction to see the other works of art the Butcher will be putting up on the block, and the Butcher tells everyone there's a lot more where that came from. Becky though asks when does the Butcher collect art, and decides she and Bob must take a closer look.

Later, after becoming WordGirl and Captain Huggy Face, inside the Butcher's warehouse, WordGirl looks from behind some crates and she sees the Butcher with something under a tarp, and presumes he's about to reveal his evil scheme at some point. So WordGirl tells Huggy they have to stay hidden until he does. Huggy however hiccups and the Butcher hears him and he catches them in his warehouse with him, so WordGirl decides to go with Plan B. WordGirl and Captain Huggy Face then show up in front of the Butcher and the Butcher asks WordGirl what she's doing here, as WordGirl states she was going to ask him the same thing. The Butcher then tries to attack WordGirl and Huggy Face with his pastrami attack, but they throw two crates at him. But before they could hit him, the Butcher destroys the creates with his pastrami powers. The Butcher then tells WordGirl it'll teach her to steal from his art collection, but WordGirl explains to him that she's not here to steal it, but is really here to foil his evil scheme. The Butcher then tells WordGirl she's got it all wrong, and explains he doesn't need crime now that he's learned to appreciate the beauty of art, and he shows her all the pieces of art work in his art collection that he collected. He then asks WordGirl aren't they "magnisifint", and WordGirl corrects him into saying "magnificent". WordGirl then states to the Butcher that he was about to tell her how he stolen all the works of art, but the Butcher tells her he didn't. WordGirl however then asks him how else would a criminal like him get them and would he expect her to believe him that he got all the pieces of art at yard sales. The Butcher then reminds WordGirl that all of the works of art have been lost for fifty years, so he wasn't born back then since that's a long time, and there's no way he could've stolen something before he was born. So the Butcher presumes the only criminals are her and her sidekick, since she and Huggy Face broke into his warehouse, calling him a crook with no proof. He then orders WordGirl and Huggy Face to leave and threatens to call the cops. So WordGirl and Huggy Face leave, but she tells the Butcher she'll be keeping an eye on him, and something about all of his art work stinks.

At WordGirl's Secret Spaceship Hideout, WordGirl looks at pictures of the lost pieces of art work on her computer and sees they all seem to check out, as they all have been missing for years. WordGirl then thinks that the Butcher is making friends with all the rich art patriots so he could steal their wallets, which the narrator states to her that's a "magnificent theory", which it isn't really. While WordGirl was sitting in the chair, Huggy Face makes a statue of her out of clay, which impresses the narrator.

On night two of the Garfunkel Gallery's art auction, the next statue that gets shown on stage is "Guy with a Goat". When the statue is revealed, everyone gets amazed by it, and the auctioneer states it's on option thanks to the generosity of the Butcher, and the Butcher says hi to the audience again. In the audience, Violet finds the statue magnificent, but then she looks at it and the picture of it in the book and she asks Becky does the picture look anything like the statue to her. Becky states it's got to since she sees both the guy and the goat, but Violet shows Becky the picture of the statue and thinks it's something with the texture or shading, and presumes something just doesn't seem right. When Becky looks at both the statue and the picture of it, states to her that it's "browner" and thinks it might just be old. After the auctioneer then asks the audience does he hear the price for the statue and sells it to the rich old lady, when Violet again says, "Something just doesn't seem right". Becky has an idea and thinks the Butcher is forging works of art. Becky and Bob transform into WordGirl and Captain Huggy Face and show up in stage, right in front of the Butcher and the audience. WordGirl then announces to the audience that the statue is a forgery, making all the people gasp in shock. The Butcher then thanks WordGirl and states he thinks is really "forgerific" himself, but WordGirl corrects him that she said, "forgery", which means it's a fake, a copy designed to fool people into thinking it's an original. The auctioneer however tells WordGirl that this is a very serious claim. He asks her if she has the real lost statue, but WordGirl tells him no. So he asks her what's her proof that the statue is a forgery. Upon remembering what Violet said, WordGirl tells him and the audience that the proof is is that something just doesn't seem right. However, the auctioneer asks her could she be more specific, and WordGirl tells everyone it's kind of "browner". The Butcher then explains to the audience that WordGirl and Captain Huggy Face have been following him around making up a lot of wild stories about him and his art collection. A police commissioner named Watson who loves art then arrives on stage and asks what the problem is. WordGirl tells him "forged art work!", and the Butcher tells him, "Pesky superhero!". Police Commissioner Watson then seriously warns WordGirl if she doesn't have any proof, then he'll have to arrest her for harassing the Butcher, making the audience gasp in shock again. The Butcher then tells Watson that he doesn't need to arrest WordGirl, and asks him that he just wants her and Huggy Face both banned from the art gallery, especially tomorrow night where he'll be auctioning off his rarest, and most valuable piece of his art collection. So Watson tells WordGirl she must not set foot on the Garfunkel Gallery the next night for any reason, and warns her if she does, then she and Huggy Face will be arrested. WordGirl and Huggy Face then leave as she feels disgusted. As they leave, WordGirl tells Huggy Face to not worry and they'll catch the Butcher and they just have to get closer to his art works to find out what's wrong with them.

On night three of the Garfunkel Gallery's art action, Huggy Face shows up disguised as an art collector, while WordGirl hides herself by using a painting with a hole cut in it so she could see through it. As the next action begins, the auctioneer reveals the next statue in the Butcher's art collection which is the most rare and precious one in it, called "Complicated Smoosh". When the statue is revealed, the people get amazed by it. The auctioneer then asks does he hear the price for it, which was five hundred thousand dollars. Edith, the rich old lady and Huggy Face in his disguise then hold up their number signs and Henderson decides to sell it to Huggy Face, thinking he's a new art collector at the action. When Huggy Face walks up on stage, the auctioneer asks him if it'll be cash or cash. He then gives him a card that says, "Would you take an I.O.U.?" on it, The auctioneer tells him no and ask him how does he wish to pay. However, the Butcher knew who the art collector really is and he rips off the fake mustache, revealing it to be WordGirl's sidekick, Captain Huggy Face (whom he calls Captain "Squishy" Face) and he angrily tells him he's not supposed to be here. WordGirl then shows up on stage telling that Butcher that nether is she, and she again announces to the audience that the statue is a forgery, but all of the audience then get disgusted. WordGirl tries to convince the audience that she's sure it is, but the Butcher then says to everyone that the statue is a hundred percent real with no artificial colors or perverseness. The Butcher now very angry at WordGirl then asks if the police "confessional" is here, and Watson appears from the audience saying it's "commissioner" and he is. The Butcher tells Watson he was WordGirl and Huggy Face arrested. Police Commissioner Watson then takes out handcuffs and approaches WordGirl to arrest her and Huggy Face and take them to jail. As Watson approaches them, WordGirl tries to convince him to believe her that the statue is a fake, saying it's "browner", lumpier then it should be and it smells really good. As Watson tells WordGirl to just come along quietly, WordGirl has an idea and now believes it really is a fake, so she tells Huggy Face to quickly do Plan 568. So Huggy Face quickly jumps just as Watson was about to grab him and he bites into the top of the statue and starts eating it, causing the people to freak out. WordGirl now realizes she knew it and the Butcher really was forging all of the pieces of art work, as they were all made out of meat. When Watson sees Huggy Face eating out of the statue, he orders Sergeant Henderson to give him a cracker. Henderson gives Watson one and he sticks it into the statue taking a piece off it and eats it. When Watson eats the piece of the statue, he realizes it's made of pure chopped liver, so he orders his cops to arrest the Butcher. So Sergeant Henderson and Officer Jim handcuff the Butcher and take him away to jail. Watson then tells WordGirl she did magnificent work and they never should've doubted her, and WordGirl states that Huggy Face's stomach gets some of the credit. And so, everyone enjoys the eating the statues made of delicious meat.
