Lexicon

Lexicon is the home planet of WordGirl. It is located in a solar system very far from Earth.

Appearance[]

The planet Lexicon is very large. It appears yellow from space, other than a large red spot that seems to be in the shape of a star. Two solidified rings surround the planet.

Many other celestial bodies can be seen from Lexicon, and most of them appear to be very close to the planet itself.

History[]

Very little is known about the history of Lexicon.

WordGirl was born on the planet Lexicon. When she was still only an infant, the future WordGirl accidentally left Lexicon on a spaceship piloted by Captain Huggyface. After hitting an asteroid, Huggy saved them both by crash-landing on Earth.

At one point, the evil alien Miss Power was searching for a new world to conquer. Lexicon was one of the potential planets on her holographic list, but she ignored it after deciding it had 'too many rings.'

At one point, WordGirl mentioned that Lexicon shares a sun with another planet called Hexagon, which is the home planet of her fellow superhero Kid Math.

Culture and Infrastructure[]

In the episode "WordGirl Makes a Mistake", during a flashback while Becky was explaining how she came to Earth, the viewer is shown a dome-like city in the background of Lexicon.

During the episode "The Rise of Miss Power", WordGirl consulted a text from Lexicon entitled Super Advanced Secret Battle Moves of The Planet Lexicon. The book taught her how to defend herself from the harsh methods of Miss Power.

The Mural in WordGirl's Spaceship[]

There is a gigantic mural adorning the ceiling of the library in WordGirl's spaceship. It depicts a society of superheroes dressed in capes and outfits very similar to WordGirl. Almost everyone on the mural is flying and holding a book, and many friendly monkeys can be seen in the background of the mural as well.

It is unknown if this mural depicts the real Lexicon or not.

Name[]

Holographic Lexicon — A holographic image of Lexicon

The word Lexicon means a word book or dictionary, which is an appropriate place of origin for someone who has been called "the living dictionary". The word's second definition - the vocabulary of a particular language, field, et cetera - is also quite fitting.

Trivia[]

Captain Huggy Face owns a picture of himself and his brother, depicting the pair standing on a much smaller planet with Earth in the background. This, combined with the fact that WordGirl has never stated that Huggy is also from Lexicon, suggests that he is not a native of the planet like she is.
Despite appearing in the title song, there are only a few times the planet is shown throughout the show's history.
