Leslie is a minor antagonist in WordGirl.

She is Mr. Big's executive assistant, and helps him carry out his evil plans and various whims. This includes everything from secretary work to fetching his "squishy bunnies" and even doing hard labor.

Personality[]

In her first appearance, Leslie is shown to be more expressive with a happier demeanor, lacking her monotone voice that she would later be known for in the show. Throughout season 1, she progressively lost more and more emotion up until season 2 where her monotone voice and mostly dull expression would define her character.

Despite her tendencies to be overworked and overwhelmed by Mr Big's plans, Leslie has no problem carrying out evil schemes for her boss though her lack of outward emotional display makes it difficult to know precisely her stance on the matter of his evil. It is hinted that if given the choice, she simply would not do any crime, as shown when she temporarily quit to be WordGirl's sidekick, she quickly teamed up with her to stop Mr Big, being on the 'good side' before she and Huggy (who was under the evil CEO's control) were traded. This implies her character to be mostly (if not somewhat) neutral.

Leslie is shown as a plain, monotone sort of woman that loyally follows orders to anyone she works with, no matter how ridiculous. Up to the later seasons, Leslie begins to actively have a more sarcastic tone towards her superior and openly shows her frustration with him. Furthermore, she's seen to unhesitatingly go against her boss' wishes and interferes with his plans when he does something she doesn't agree with. However, she is also shown to become violent for her boss, physically fighting off characters such as Captain Huggy Face, Wordgirl and even Exposition Guy just for his plans to succeed.

Leslie is occasionally shown to have a softer side, such as her love for the fictional show Pretty Princess and Magic Pony Power Hour and all things cute such as babies. Surprisingly, she is also shown to care for her boss, albeit rarely when she isn't exasperated with him.

Skills and Abilities[]

In addition to being a loyal assistant, she also has a variety of useful skills. She is revealed to be a black belt in karate in the episode "Mr. Big's Dolls and Dollars", which she puts into practice whenever she and Huggy face off. She also mentions in "Big is Botsford's Boss" that karate actually makes her feel happy. In "WordGirl Makes a Mistake", she displayed her adept gymnastic skills that she confesses are due to her taking classes when she was younger. In the same episode, she's shown working on a mind control device Mr. Big had planned to use on the moon, indicating she has some knowledge in engineering.

In "The Pretty Princess and Mr. Big Power Hour", she shows her extensive knowledge of the show Pretty Princess, she even has more knowledge about the show itself than WordGirl.

Leslie is also skilled in welding, as seen in "Ears To You" where she's seen working on and building a large blimp. Additionally, she is capable of piloting said blimp, as well as a rocket ship, a crane vehicle and a golf cart.

In "Banned on the Run", she is seen briefly painting a portrait of Mr. Big, hinting some talent in art.

Appearance[]

Leslie(6)

Leslie's temporary villain outfit.

Leslie is a somewhat short woman with blonde hair that reaches her shoulders. Her usual attire is a red office jacket with a single button on the front and a baby blue shirt underneath. Her office pants and lapels of her jacket are a slightly darker shade of red than her jacket. She wears gray high heels and is always seen with a collar necklace with a gold diamond-shaped pendant hanging from it. Most notably, she wears glasses that she adjusts every so often.

In "Leslie Makes It Big", her usual attire is recolored from red to green and her baby blue shirt changes to mint. Her high heels are purple and wears a purple mask much like Mr. Big's. This is the only time she's seen with this outfit.

Relationships[]

Mr. Big[]

Leslie is the assistant of Mr. Big and is perhaps the closest person he has to a friend. She is also the one person Mr. Big has not betrayed.

WordGirl[]

While she will fight off WordGirl because of orders or to keep the plan going, Leslie and WordGirl actually get along very well. WordGirl has often complimented Leslie fighting skills.
